With all the different kinds of rowing machines on the market it can be tough to know what your best options are. So I just want to quickly run you through some of the different ways these indoor rowers have been built so that you can find out what the best one for you is.

Magnetically Powered Rowing Equipment

In these systems – like at a bike – a flywheel mass is driven by the energy which is generated when you make a stroke. The flywheel is slowed either by the magnetic force of several permanent magnets or – in the ideal case – by an electromagnet (as with eddy current resistance). These systems are close to perfect because they allow you a very smooth rowing. You should only ensure that the flywheel mass is huge enough to guarantee gliding exercises. In the ideal case the flywheel mass is still moving when you start with the next stroke.

Many people say that this type of rower is the smoothest. Experts recommend this type if you have been experiencing any back problems for this reason.

Water Rowing Equipment

This next one is for those that really want to go for the natural feeling of rowing whilst doing they’re workout. This idea was come up by the water rower brand and I believe they may have even patented it.This works by moving a paddle through an attached water tank and is very unique compared to the standard models.

The resistance can be calibrated by filling in more or less water. The illusion gets perfect when you hear during your workouts the sound of splashing water. Close your eyes and you are in the center of a silent lake.

Hydraulic Rowing Machines

The best known and most simple system comes with hydraulic cylinder pistons. They are used by models like the Kettler Favorite or the Stamina 1205 precision.

This system has been around for many years. Resistance is generated by a hydraulic cylinder which creates counter-pressures at forward and backward motion. The strength of resistance can be changed by adjusting the leverage or by adjusting each cylinder. And here is the first disadvantage of this system: It will take a certain time until both cylinders are set on a single level. Moreover, these cylinders have a limited lifespan.

Another issue is that once your going you can’t change your position or move much because you will be met by too much resistance from the hydraulics.

This is not the best option if you are over the age of 40 as it can cause damage to joints, muscles and tendons.

Air Rowing Machines

Using a rower which is set up to use oxygen, you will be able to get the most realistic feeling according to many users and experts.

As you workout oxygen will fill the air drive that these are built with which will build up the resistance. These are used by lots of athletes and often used at the Olympic games as they provide one of the best workouts in the most realistic way.

I truly believe that these are an excellent type of indoor rower, but if you want something cheaper than you may want to go with a magnetic one. Like wise if you are older than that’s also your best bet as they tend to be much more low-impact which will ensure that you don’t sustain an injury.

If there’s one way that you can increase your fitness quickly whilst building your muscle tone, it’s by using indoor rowing machines. These are really great because they provide a full body workout and utilize all your muscles in combination with each other. Whats more, they are one of the best cardio exercises that you can do!

There are basically two kinds of rowing machines: those with a movable handle system and those with a wire system.

In practice, the cable control systems have proofed their worth since they guarantee an harmonious flow of movement.

If you have back problems in the lower lumbar area, then you want to rethink ordering a rowing machine. Often an incorrect execution of the exercise leads to an abnormal movement of the back which can result in increasing health problems. Also diseases of the knee (like meniscus injury or inflammation of the joints) require very gentle sportive activities.

In this instance it is advisable to choose a rowing machine which works in a very smooth way so that muscles, ligaments and joints are trained gently.

Quality Requirements For Rowing Equipment

1. Locate a stable body design.

2. Movable handles demand for an increased user ability to coordinate his body movements.

3. Locate a comfortable seat as you are sat on it throughout the workout and so it must fit you well and not make you uncomfortable.

4. Make sure that you select the right length of machine for your height. If you are taller you will not be able to get a short rower as it will not meet your needs. Likewise, if you are shorter than a longer machine will be no healthy for you.

5. A concise and easy-to-use training computer is fun and ensures a motivating effect for training.

6. Of course you really need to measure the dimensions of the rower you like and make sure that it will fit into the room you have for it. You may want to invest in a fold-able one so that it can be stored away and taken out only when you need it.

7. Ask fitness trainers in the club and who have experience with this equipment. You may even want to join an online health club or forum to help you ask questions and discover what they think is the best indoor rower to buy.

By reading the tips that I’ve just provided through and making a mental or even physical note of them, you should have no trouble finding the right rowing machine for you. Just make sure that you stick to using it when you get it as it can be easy to set it aside and forget about it. You may even want to write up a workout routine and eating plan to keep you on the right track.

Over the past few years, a company which has been providing exercise machines for some time has really been doing well. The brand I’m talking about is Kettler and it looks as if they’ve had another winning machine with they’re new indoor rower. If you have not yet heard about this company, then you should read on and find out the reason why they have everybody’s trust.

Karin Kettler has been operating the company since it had been passed down to her by her father within the year of 2005. The company provides all kinds of exercise machines through treadmill machines to stationary bikes as well as rowing equipment which we’ll take a quick look at now.

The indoor rower that I’d like to tell you is the Kettler Coach LS and it is the next model up from the standard coach rowing machine which was released around 7 years ago. Of course with any new release there are many updates and improvements from the older version. For example, they’ve added a linear gliding system which is a first time for any of they’re rowing machines up to this point.

With the new system the seat slides on two glides which gives more stability and allows smoother rowing.

There are also an additional ten more resistance levels which will give you all the levels and milestones you need to reach an extremely high fitness level.

For individuals who do not want to disturb members of the family or neighbours, the very silent (and wear-less) magnetic resistance is a good alternative to air resistance.

With the new readouts you now get a whole host of new data including room temperature which effects your recovery not to mention the standard heart beat monitors, calorie counts and more.

But the Kettler Coach is not only a rowing machine…

It comes with the cushioned backboard that allows you sixteen exercises beside rowing. These include upper-body strength workouts to build up your shoulders, biceps, triceps, back and much more.

After reading this article you may feel like just running out and buying one right now, but I suggest that you also consider looking at other models too, to make sure that it really is the best indoor rower for you.

You know that you need to drop a few pounds and tighten a few muscles. You want to fit back into your jeans and rediscover your trim body from your twenties. But how are you going to meet those fitness goals?

For many the obvious solution is to set up a home gym. It is easy, convenient and always there for you when you need it. What could be better? But before you rush out to purchase equipment to stock your home gym it is wise to take a bit of time to determine your needs. Considerations for your home gym should include your budget, your fitness goals and the best equipment to meet both of these criteria.

One of the first and most important factors is the price of the home gym. A home gym can be as little as a few hundred dollars or it can cost a few thousand depending on what it provides you with and how high quality it is. Everybody has a different price range that they are comfortable with, but there should always be a good home gym that you can afford.

If you are having trouble coming up with the cash to outfit your home gym, try calculating how much money you are spending at Starbucks and McDonalds. You may be able to find those extra pennies easier than you think, and time spent in your home gym will be much healthier time than that spent at either of those other two places! Keep in mind that a home gym can begin with as little as a few hundred dollars, or as much as a few thousand. It all depends on what you buy.

Another important area of concern will be the goals that you have. The two main goals that you should consider will be losing weight and building strength and muscle. For losing weight, cardio training machines such as treadmills, bikes and ellipticals are the best bet. For building muscle mass, then you obviously need machines that can help you perform strength training exercises.

But if you aren’t in a position to buy it all at once, determine your initial goals and purchase appropriately. You can always throw a few extra pieces into your home gym as your budget allows and your fitness needs change.

People often question how much reputation and quality really count with home gyms. Aren’t they all the same anyway? No, this isn’t the case. High quality machines are going to open up the doors to a whole new realm of exercises and techniques, and you’ll be much more successful.

The models on the lower end of the price scale are simply not designed to withstand the wear and tear of daily use for as long as their more expensive counterparts. Buy the best pieces that you can afford and you will be enjoying your home gym for many years to come.

This article can best be surmised as a means to help you decide which pieces of exercise equipment that you should get, and determining if you actually need any at all. While there are certainly a number of different aspects and points of concern to consider here, it all comes down to one main focal point: what piece of machinery is going to help me get in great shape?

You might not have been aware, but people go to work every single day and attempt to design new fitness gear and machines that are better than what they had thought of yesterday. Ideally every new design will be easier to use while increasing the results on your body for the effort. So what might have once been the best thing to buy might not be the best thing for you to buy right now.

You can really attempt to make this narrowing down and selection process a little bit easier on yourself. You can lump three main ideas to the purchase, and through applying these focal points against the makes and models of equipment you should be able to find a great piece of gear. You are going to consider the process of the exercise on the equipment, the machine’s storage and functionality, and lastly the price of that machine.

The first thing that was on that list was the exercising that you are going to be able to do. That is what the machine is allowing you to do in order to use it. If you go with one of the gimmick machines, the workout that you are going to be able to do on the machine might get pretty old pretty quickly. You want to find a machine that continues to challenge you as you work out, so that you are ever receiving results.

So you are going to want to look for a piece of equipment that not only has a great base workout, but one that you are either going to be able to expand upon or change entirely. That is not hard to come by these days and well worth your investment. These can offer you options like pre-programmed workouts so that you can keep switching it up. Apart from this, you are going to want your machine to be able to change it up to in regards to its size and shape. This means that you really should take a look at space saving models, as these are easy to store and use and take up a very small amount of space when not being used.

The price of the machine that you are looking at is going to have a huge impact on what you end up buying as well. You should not shy away from models simply because they are a little more than you anticipated paying. In the world of this equipment, you really do get what you pay for.

So when it comes to exercise equipment, that is the base concept. If you were to apply the three main focal points to your search and purchase, you are very likely to wind up with a workout machine that you really love.

You will save money over the long haul when compared with expensive monthly gym memberships, and you get to enjoy the convenience of working out from your own home and really producing great results.

You choose your own schedule and you’ll save a ton of time without needing to travel anywhere. Take 20 or 30 minutes whenever you want in the day or night and that’s all you need for a great workout.

We hear everyday about how important it is to workout and live an active lifestyle but the hard truth of the matter is that it’s simply too time consuming for most of us to get it done. We have to drive back and forth to the gym, only during their hours of operation, wait in line to use the best machines and still juggle all of our daily responsibilities. It’s a lot to handle and it leads to many of us having declining physical and mental health.

This is where the beauty of a home gym comes into play. Instead of sacrificing half of your night going to the gym when you have to help make dinner, escort the kids around and so forth, you can now workout at any time of the day or night at your complete convenience.

Of course, home gyms would not be so popular if they did not provide such a stellar workout. They can target all of the various muscles and muscle groups all over your frame, including some muscles you probably didn’t even realize you had. Not only that, but they are designed to be as safe as possible, protecting you from discomfort, stress and injury.

With a home gym you will be able to do just about any kind of exercise that you’d like. That means you can do all of the pushing and pulling exercises, you can use pulleys and ropes, perform bodyweight movements and more. There will be an exact exercise to target each and every area of your body, so regardless of what your goals are you’ll be able to succeed with ease.

Built to last, these pieces of equipment will often be highly usable for decades, making them a very smart investment. Even though they can cost a few thousand dollars, users can save countless thousands by purchasing a home gym instead of becoming a gym member. With a home gym, health enthusiasts can become fit on their own terms and in their spare time.

Recent scientific articles stated that a person was far likelier to get a good night’s rest if they exercised early in the morning instead of the evening. With a local gym, most people would find it impossible to exercise before heading off to work. With a home gym, users can wake up half an hour before grabbing a shower and get their daily exercise in, starting off their day with a rigorous workout that would increase blood flow and help them wake up to become highly attentive throughout the day.

Exercise is extremely important for all of us. It does more than build our muscles and keep our bones strong. It also improves our energy levels, keeps our health and our lungs healthy, improves our blood pressure, battles depression, makes us feel better about ourselves and look better in the mirror and on down the line. Simply put, the most convenient way to see all of these great benefits is to invest in a home gym today.

It was well over a year back now when I finally plucked up the courage to buy my Concept 2 rowing machine. I had got so fed up with having to pay so much for my gym membership that I just too the plunge.

I had worked out the amount of money I had spent over the years working out at the gym and realized that I was getting very ripped off. I could have had half a home gym I though, so started to think about the idea of just buying my own fitness equipment.

Plus, when I went to the gym, I would tend to just stick to 2 or 3 machines. I liked using the rowing machines the most of all and sometimes that would be the only exercise equipment that I went on so it would be far better just to buy the machine and cancel my gym membership.

So I went online and did some research into buying an indoor rower. I read the features and reviews of dozens of rowing machines made my dozens of companies. By the end, I was interested by the Concept 2 model and decided that I would like to buy it.

I remember being really excited about getting my new Concept 2 rowing machine. So excited in fact that I just went directly to Amazon and got myself a brand new model at no discount.

It took under a week to come and as soon as I had tried it out, I knew that I had made the right decision. I promptly cancelled going to the gym and would now use my rower for my exercise needs.

About 1 month after I had bought my rower my friend, who had been using it once a week, bought one for himself. But he didn’t buy an expensive new one like I foolishly had! He got a used on for way less than a quarter of what I paid. His was no different to mine at all and worked just as well!

So the lesson I learnt from this is, don’t just buy home fitness machines new! Look about and find one that is second hand or used but is still in great condition.

You should take a look at this if you want to learn more about home rowing machines.
